Making A Difference
Doesn’t everyone want to feel like they are making a difference in this world? I know I do! I have met some powerful people this past week who are DEFINITELY making a difference in the world by mentoring, helping the disabled, helping non-profits raise much needed funds, helping restore local treasures, and helping heal broken relationships.
What are YOU doing to make a difference? Need a place to plug in? There is a Senior Job and Volunteer Fair coming up on Tuesday, September 12 in Frisco from 10-3. Maybe you attend and find a place that speaks to you so that you can start volunteering. Maybe your company is looking for some new talent and could look to hire active adult seniors with tons of life experience. This wonderful event is being held at the Frisco Senior Center and is sponsored by The Senior Services Alliance of Frisco, a group of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. Our firm is also sponsoring the Silent Auction Tent at a FUN event where EVERY dollar raised goes to Camp Craig Allen. They are a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the “overlooked” physically disabled children, adults and Veterans of North Texas. They encourage self-awareness, positive influence and independence through therapeutic, educational and recreational programs.
The event that I am speaking about is their Annual Amateur BBQ Cookoff & Music Fest on October 6 and 7 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. Check this out at www.campcraigallen.org
I know that, from my experience, the more you share of yourself and give to others, the more your heart grows and grows. You become a new and enhanced version of yourself that is one step closer to your life goal. You learn from each person whom you meet and your worldview is definitely widened. I have often felt guilty as I feel I have received more than I have given. This is when you know that you have a heart for mission. After all, we are ONE people….ONE humankind, all trying to survive on this planet and to do so, we are called to help each other.
I hope this post has given you some food for thought as you relax this weekend…maybe take time to think about what YOU are doing to make a difference and if you are not happy with the answer, then always remember there is still time to change the road you are on….and I would be happy to suggest many local opportunities for you to check out if you would message me. Maybe one of them is right up your alley!
Have a blessed weekend…and I would love to hear from you!
