Memorial Day – Remember and Honor
Memorial Day. Veteran’s Day. Armed Services Day. The meanings of each are sometimes confused. Memorial Day remembers and honors service members who died in the line of duty. For many Americans, Memorial Day is a day off from work, fun with family and friends at the beach, lake or pool. Hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream. Maybe even a fireworks show. But for many others, it is also a personal and emotional reminder of loved ones who have paid the ultimate price to make, and keep, our nation free, safe and strong.
Today, we remember and honor those who have served and died, not for their country but for all of us. And our prayers are with those left behind–parents who lost children, children who lost parents, siblings who lost siblings, and friends who lost friends–that God may comfort you in your loss and give you peace.
From our Haiman Hogue family to yours, thank you and God bless you.
